As an educator who has worked in public, charter and private schools and having grown up in the City of Buffalo, I have experienced the inequities that exist within our education system. Students with less often get less. They get fewer opportunities to experience creativity, less time in literacy-rich environments and less time to focus on being a kid. For Every Little Handprint’s mission spoke to me immediately because it is essentially a mission to provide support and strategies that will allow our area youth to fully experience knowledge and joy. It is an honor to serve on the Board of a grass-roots organization that was created by a young woman seeking to serve her community.
